Brussels Airport top honours at the World Route Awards

Brussels Airport is the overall winner of World Routes Award 2012. The event took place in Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit, which is the home of F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix racing circuit.

Brussels were the winner for the European category while other regional winners were Dallas/ Fort Worth in the Americas, Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta in Africa, Ekaterinburg Koltsovo winning the CIS category and Singapore’s Changi in Asia. Top honours went to Darwin International Airport, Australia under the newest award category and boasting 4 million passengers.

SkyTeam carrier Air France-KLM won the Orbis award for social responsibility.

Seychelles Tourism Board was capable of bagging the award for the best destination marketing campaign. Other among the short-listed was Aruba Tourism Authority, Czech Tourism, Greek National Tourism Organization and Department of Tourism, Philippines. Find cheap flights.
