Bangkok’s Literary Festival Begins

Enjoying the epithet of ‘World’s Book Capital 2013’ by UNESCO, Bangkok is in the spotlight among enthusiastic writers. ‘Reaching The World’ Literary Festival is the first in Bangkok and comprises of more than 100 authors, translators and publishers.

The literacy festival begins with a two-day summit exploring two key issues. It includes the value of literary prizes and the requirement for quality literary translators to take writers to the global market.

The aim of the event is to conjoin with one of the prestigious and long running literary events in Asia – The South East Asian Writers’ Award (S.E.A Write)

Some of the famous celebrities in the literary world includes Australian author Mathew Condon, Hong Kong author Nuri Vittachi, Program Director for British Center for Literary Translation Daniel Hahn and the 2012 S.E.A Write Awards winners as guests.
